Still can't shake the sickness!

Well Rick is still not able to clear the sick hurdle and get better. Poor guy is so tuckered out he just does a faceplant whenever he can't hold his head up. He's not exactly unhappy, just worn out from the on again off again fever, and stuffed up nose. We gave him medicine and the poor guy was wobbling around like he was drunk. We later found out it causes drowsiness. Too bad it didn't help him sleep through the night.

Sara called me at work today to voice a complaint. Apparently she found two copies of the same book and demanded to talk to me. "Daddy. We have two books. Same. Why you do that? Its wasting!" She said through the cellphone. I came up with a reasonable explanation she could understand but was passed off to mommy before I could muster up my defense. When I came home, Sara was already growing tired (which has been the cycle recently). She has been eating like mad recently to make up for her loss of appetite when she was sick. This means we have occasionally caved and let her eat in the living room and not the dining room. Today while eating rice she started to giggle. After we asked why, she looked up and said "J." Sure enough she had sculpted one out of her rice. Soon after she was falling asleep.

The Happy Boy and Sick Mommy

Mommy has been a bit sick the past couple days, so I have stepped up to try and give her some time off. I took the morning off of work to be with the kids, which was both tiring and rewarding. After an hour long nap Rick woke up a little on the moody side. Thankfully his mood shifted once he discovered how much fun destroying my towers could be. He then listened as I read his favorite book Moko Moko 20 times over. Phew. Hope Mommy gets well soon!

Irashaimase!

Princess Sara made her own restaurant, drawing her daily specials on slips of paper (the one front row center is a hamburger apparently). Needless to say she was one happy customer. I asked if she wants to be a chef when she grows up but she said no. I then asked her what she wants to be and she said to me... "ummm ACTually I want to be a princess."

The silver lining.

Finally a sunny enough day to run outside and enjoy fresh air. Sara had a blast tagging everything from our house walls to man hole covers. Her pink fingers and blue cheeks are signs of the good time she had. Meanwhile, Rick is showing he is ready to walk and give his mommy and daddy's back a break. A couple months and he'll need some shoes! A couple of months after that and mommy and daddy will need a vacation!

Rick Waves.

Rick's motor skills are improving daily. A wave, a clap, a banzai, and recently pointing and talking on the cellphone. Along with his "boo boo" noises he is showing signs of wanting to play with the big kids. Also showing signs of being sick, he never hesitates to smile at his mommy and daddy.

Sara sick.

Sara is feeling a little under the weather as of late. All signs point to the rotavirus. She is having more trouble going to the bathroom than usual. About the only thing that gives her encouragement is the movie The Iron Giant. She is willing to push when we rekindle memories of the gentle giant's self sacrifice. Though it back fired when she pushed so hard she threw up all over mommy. Well, she definitely deserves this badge.
